What to See in Camerano
Grotte di Camerano
This is the main attraction. The caves run below the old town and form a remarkable underground city shaped over centuries.
Underground chambers and carvings
The caves are not simple cellars. Visitors can see decorated rooms, religious bas-reliefs and circular spaces with unusual architecture.
Historic centre
Above ground, Camerano is a pleasant small town to walk around before or after the visit.
Conero area nearby
Camerano also works well combined with other places in the Conero area if you are travelling by car.
How to Visit the Grotte di Camerano
Visits are guided only and it is not possible to enter independently.
Groups are limited to 20 people, and the visit usually lasts about 1 hour to 1 hour 15 minutes.
During holidays and busy periods it is recommended to book in advance, and local tourism sources suggest reserving at least 48 hours earlier in high season.
